The Newfoundland & Labrador Snowmobile Federation offers a abundance of trails throughout Newfoundland. Common visited areas includes the back country of the Lewis Hills. The Whaleback Nordic Ski Club offers amazing conditions for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Additionally, snowshoers often use the Walk-A-Ways trails system throughout Stephenville. Marble Mountain located in Steady Brook, NL, approximately an hours drive from Stephenville, offers wonderful conditions for downhill skiing.
Hockey and Skating
The Stephenville Dome offers an Olympic size ice surface, fully serviced cafeteria, walking track and multi-purpose rooms. General, adult skating and shinny hockey sessions are offered throughout the winter. The dome is also home to Stephenville minor hockey, a Men’s hockey league, the Stephenville Skating Club, and a Broomball league.
