The Town of Stephenville would like to advise residents that Town Council will be holding their Regular Public Council Meeting on May 4, 2023 at 7:00 PM.

8:00am to 4:00pm

Curbside Collection May 8 to May 12th, 2023.

Residents are asked to have items by the curb on May 8

Items are to be separated into four categories prior to being collected: 

  • Metals (appliances, scrap metal)

  • Trees (branches, logs)

  • Grass/leaves

  • Others

Non separated piles of garbage will not be collected.

 Items not accepted are: 

  • Construction/renovation materials

  • Refrigerators/freezers containing coolant

  • Liquids

  • Tires

  • Propane tanks

  • Medical Waste

About the Grant Program

The foundation of this community-based funding program is to improve the well-being and quality of the life of the citizens of Stephenville. Financial Assistance offered through this program is directed toward not-for-profit community-based organizations providing a wide range of programs and services across the community.

2023 Program Year -Now Open

Funding for the 2023 Program Year budget is allocated in the amount of $150,000

Deadline for 2023 Applications

There will be two calls for applications, Spring (1st call) and Fall (2nd call). The fall application approvals will be determined based on available budget.

The deadline to submit an Application for the 2023 Spring is Friday May 12, 2023.

Fall applications will open September 12 and close October 12, 2023, and approvals will be determined based on available budget remaining.

What applicants need to know:

  • The application process is a competitive process.

  • There may be more grant applications received than available funding.

  • Past funding commitments should not be interpreted as a guarantee that future funding requests will be approved.

  • An established program may receive a grant when it faces a new opportunity for expansion or has encountered unexpected challenges. ​

  • Approved Applicants must provide a summary report to the Town of Stephenville within 30 days of project completion.

will be held on April 20, 2023, at 6:30PM Days Inn – 44 Queen Street, Stephenville, NL

This session shall be conducted by the proponent, Northern Harvest Smolt Inc (Mowi Canada East Inc.) Contact: Aaron Bennett, Phone: 506-469-4750, Email: aaron.bennett@mowi.com as part of the environmental assessment for this project)

The purpose of this session is to describe all aspects of the proposed project, to describe the activities associated with it, and to provide an opportunity for all interested persons to request information or state their concerns.
